Following his residency in Mértola, Portugal, through the Cortex Frontal Hypertextile program, A. Sebastianus will present selections from his ongoing research project Entangled Geologies with Semarang Gallery as part of the inaugural edition of Art Jakarta Papers, taking place from 5–8 February 2026 at City Hall, Pondok Indah Mall 3, Jakarta.
As the first edition of Art Jakarta Papers — a fair dedicated to paper-based contemporary art and featuring 28 galleries, primarily from Indonesia — the platform foregrounds material experimentation and expanded approaches to paper within contemporary practice. Sebastianus’s presented works emerge from his investigations into memory, geology, and material residue, developed during his time in Portugal. Through photographic fragments transformed into handspun cords and tactile compositions, the series reflects on the entanglement between landscape, body, and ancestral memory.
